Remodeling....

For the past three months Niles and I have been remodeling. We bought our house at the middle of December and very soon after decided a lot needed to be changed in order to sell it again in a couple of years. We know that this all needs to be remodeled before the new baby comes in Sept. so we've been working very hard to get it all accomplished. SO....we started with the downstairs bathroom. I don't know what I was thinking but I chose to paint it bright blue. After we painted it blue, quickly decided it was TO BRIGHT! I remebered in my sisters house she has in Virginia (she is very crafty/creative by the way) she used two different colors and sponged the second color over the backdrop. It was worth a shot, I'm definitly not as good of a painter as she is but something needed done! Now it really does feel like you are walking into a puffy sky! LOL I didn't know what other color to use so we just went with white...and It looks like a cloud in the sky! But either way I think it looks better than it did before. Niles also pulled up the lanolium flooring and layed tile. You would think that Tile is expensive but we bought it very cheep, all of the rooms in the house will match. It was on clearance from a left over project and they had to get rid of it!!! We really lucked out!

After the bathroom was done Niles went off on his deployment. The remodeling was put on hold because of the first trimester fun most women get that left me pretty tired and lacking motivation! But last weekend we put our game faces back on and decided to get serious with the remodeling. The flooring, which was the same in the bathroom, was curling up on the ends and needed replaced desperately. Niles ripped it up and layed tile in the kitchen to start it all off. While Niles was on his deployment the dishwasher died on me. It started to catch things on fire so I made the decision to put it out of its misery and buy a new one. The dishwasher was black, the stove was black and white, and the refridgerator was white! So since we were buying new, we bought a white dishwasher, and replaced the stove so it is now white too! We figured that it looks pretty good now with those few changes that the kitchen is complete in our minds! (I don't really have any great pictures of before, so I put the best that I could find to give you all an idea of how crappy it looked before the changes were made).

I have always wanted a room that was red. Niles knew this and on top of fixing the kitchen last weekend he also wanted to take on the room we use as an office. The goal was to paint it a dark red and have a black theme for the furniture and decor. Long hours were put into this room. We didn't realize with the type of textured walls that we would need to paint three seperate coats to make the walls look decent. After which we had to get our film developed and hang pictures and reorganize the room. But all in all this took a complete three days to finish this room! But it is red, and I'm sooo super happy about this!

Learning to Talk!

Dorian as learned so many new sounds in the past couple of weeks, she is finally starting to put them all together! And trust me she is just like her mother, she can not stop talking! ha ha

Daddy is Home!

Our daddy finally came home!! After two long months gone the military sent them all home early! Niles got home on March 4th early but was wipped out! But all in all he is home safe and we are sooo happy to have him home again. I'm not sure he felt the same way after he saw the shape his family was in. Dorian and Mommy both had bronchitis and then after a week of being home he ended up getting it too! But I'm sure having bronchitis was better than being over in Afgan (maybe?!). But Dorian is obsessed with her daddy. She does not leave his side, even when he is doing something as boring as dishes. It is really cute to watch her follow him around all day! ha ha

Mister Gets Stuck!

These pictures are from way back at the end of February! I've been such a bad blogger, but I'm back!!! We were REALLY sick for about 4 weeks, but now all are well and I'm ready to blog! ha ha ha. Soooo the cat really did get stuck in a bag of blocks Dorian plays with! And Dorian really did crawl over and help the cat get out of the bag! It was a "you had to be here" moment, but the pictures I got from this experience were really funny and I had to share!
