News News News

Okay so a lot has happened to me and my family in the past couple of weeks...to begin, my sister is currently in china to get her lil' boy Josh! yay!!! I cannot wait to have him home and apart of our wonderful family!

She flew out on the 9th of December from Jacksonville FL. to Detroit and then Detroit to Tokyo! It was a very long and exhausting trip for her, it is 13 hours ahead of our time so she lost a few hours on the way and didn't sleep for almost 24 hours! Crazy! She reports that china is soooo different than USA. It is super crowded and extremely congested! Cars everywhere and it is like "playing chicken" every time you walk down the street because people walk right at you! There is so much smog that people actually have designer face masks that you can buy so you don't get sick from all of the pollution!!! wow...this is only a little from what she has told us, if you want to follow her story, while she is there...you can click on her blog link on my page! Really interesting and lots of cool pictures she is taking! Go Renee!!! She gets her Little boy tomorrow, December 15th at 2pm....CANT WAIT! So I will report back on new updates!

On that note....Grandma (my mother) was suppose to come and watch her three boys Ben, kyle, and will for the first 10 days she was gone and then the second crew was coming in to take care of them the remaining days! My mom got on her plane, as if it was nothing, and after 15 minutes of being on the plane there were complications. The pilot reported that there were complications and that they were going to have to land back in Dubois. After two hours of being in the air, the pilot told everyone that there landing gear was not working and that they were going to have to crash land. He instructed them to all go to the back of the plane, strap in, and hold on to the seat in front of them.

From the story my mom tells me, it was very traumatic! The pilot landed the plane as best that he could....but still a crash landing is a crash landing!!! Anyways....after two hours they finally got there things back and were told that if they were still WILLING to fly they could get on a flight and make it to there destination within a couple of hours! My mom took them up on their offer and arrived as planned in Florida to watch the boys!

CRAZY HUH?!?!?!?

It gets better!

So my sister was sooo stressed...Myself and Dorian hopped on the first flight to Florida to help my sister as best that I could. I hope that it makes her mind at ease that there are extra hands with her kids while she is getting little josh! Because the last thing anyone expected on a routine flight is it to crash...especially when your own mother is on it! But I didn't hesitate...We made it to Florida the day my sister flew out to Detroit! It was a rocky flight, but we are safe and sound!

I am now in Florida until Thursday the 18th when my mother and I have the same flight back to Dubois! Niles is going to drive up as soon as we close on our house and meet me in Dubois! We will start our holiday vacation then!

My brother Brian also came to Florida on a whim to give an extra extra hand! And boy is it great to have him here! We are having a blast watching the kids! They keep us busy busy busy! I will post pictures when i get back to new Mexico! But we went to the zoo, a civil war fort, and walked on the beach! I take cali, my sisters dog for a walk 3 times a day so I'm getting soo much exercise! lol

And there is still more!!!

Niles and I have planned our x-mas for a long time! (and this is soooo not your fault niles!) And literally two days ago He called me to say that he was ordered to be back on base checked in by dec. 31st no later than midnight because......(drum role).........he is getting deployed overseas on Jan. 7th for 3-6months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow....not what i ever expected!

but whatever, life goes on...we have to now cut our plans short by a whole week! So we are now trying to squeeze everything in in two weeks instead of three!!! Fingers crossed, we hope to see everyone and go everywhere we originally planned! The only difference is it has all been pushed up a couple of days...so if you are all reading this...bare with us please!!!!

If you are in DuBois, Dorians baptism is still going to be on the 28th at St. Catherine's Church at 12:30...you are more than welcome to join us! And we will leave from DuBois to go back home to NM on the 29th....

So this is the news...I will update you as my journey continues! But please keep your thoughts and prayers coming for my sister! She is in China by herself being a trooper and she needs all the support she can get!!!

Pictures to come later!!!

I know you gave your sister an immeasurable gift of love going to be by her children's side. You are the true meaning of a sister, and I know she is forever grateful! I am so sorry your plans got cut short....this is military life, right? Sounds like you are making the best of what you have and that is the most important thing. Love to you this season! Hope to see you soon!
