The Day of the Fort!

12So the day after we went to the Zoo, Brian thought it would be really fun to go to this old fort. The boys screamed with excitement to go...soooo off we went!

Fort Clinch is a really really really old fort used in the civil war and world war II! It was really flippin cool! There were cool tunnels and underground rooms! HUGE walls surrounding it to keep intruders out and cannons pointing towards the ocean for protection! They still had it set up as if you were there during the war with beds the soldiers slept in, etc. etc. etc.!

So for a couple of hours we ran around in and out of tunnels, up and down stairs, around secret passage ways....we had a blast! Will and I climbed very steep stairs and walked along the walls! Ben sat on the cannon, which later we found out we were not allowed to be doing that! ha ha ha oh well!

Afterwards we went home and chilled out. I put the boys in all matching PJ's...thought it would look cute to take a picture with Dorian! let me tell you...not so much! They were just to darn tired from the zoo the day before and running around the Fort all day! ha ha ha Ben was all smiles (fake smiles but hey i'll take it!), will wanted to pretend he was a super fighter toy, and kyle was getting upset about everything. Ha Ha Ha But I took the best picture I could!

Off they went to bed to talk and giggle for an hour until they crashed! And sadly Uncle Brian, Aunt Alyssa, and Grandma were right behind them!!!! ha ha ha We went to bed sooo early it was like we were 120 years old! You know you are getting old when you go to bed before Jeopardy come on! HA HA HA

Some of our time in Florida!

As you all know I was in Florida while my sister went to China to get her wonderful little boy Josh! We had soooooooo much fun! We missed mommy, but tried to have fun and think of the great times they were going to have with their new brother Josh when their mommy came home!

I'm not going to lie...it was hard to be the sub mommy's for a week! But it was sooo worth it! We eventually figured out the schedule and were on the go go go! We took the boys to the YMCA to practice there bball skills with the master...Uncle Brian! We made it to every practice and lesson somewhat on time! And no one missed school! I think that is an accomplishment! ha ha ha

But on the weekend we took some field trips to see what Florida had to offer the 7 of us! On that first saturday Uncle Brian, myself, Dorian, Grandma, Ben, Kyle, and Will all got in the super van and drove to the zoo! We had a blast! Poppop met us there for the afternoon and we saw all kinds of neat animals and even got to ride the train!!! Stopped half way for some food inside the zoo and kept on going to see elephants, monkeys, and snakes!!

Renee, here are all of the pics I have of the zoo, and uploaded the video's onto the smilebox!! So just steal them and I'll keep posting about the rest of our stay there!

There is tons more pictures and more stories to share about Dorian and I's time in Florida...More to come!

A Very Putnam Christmas!

Niles and I just got back into New Mexico, and there are a TON of pictures that we've taken over the past month that we want to share!

We were only in PA for a short time, and most of you know it was because our time was cut short due to Niles getting deployed the 10th of Jan. He had to be back and checked in by December 31st by midnight! Crazy time, but we made it back just in the nick of time!

We spent most of our time in Wyalusing, 7 days up in the little town he calls home! ha ha ha But that only left me with two full days in DuBois! I tried to see everyone that I could have, but unfortunatley I came down with a stomache virus (that just went away today!) and I stayed in bed the entire time! So thank you to my family for being mommy while I was sick, could not have done it with out you! But I wasn't able to see everyone that I wanted too!!! I am soo sorry for those people I promised to visit...I SWARE I will come back soon and visit with you! I really just couldn't get out of bed! When Niles is deployed, I plan to visit again and for longer!

But for the time we had in wyalusing that I wasn't sick...we had a blast! I am so happy to have spent a Christmas with the Putnam family! You were all so welcoming of me and Dorian to your home and holiday traditions! I couldn't have asked for a better holiday! Thank you for playing and loving Dorian for the short time we visited! We love you and can't wait to see you all again!

And Crystal if you read this, I only posted the two good pictures of you, Dorian, and myself! I kept my promise about the picture postings! ha ha ha And to the whole clan, 30 people was a lot on christmas day...but you all were so nice and fun to be with! I will brush up my piano skills and play better for you all next time we all get together!

Thank you all for a wonderful Christmas....hope you have wonderful New Year!

News News News

Okay so a lot has happened to me and my family in the past couple of weeks...to begin, my sister is currently in china to get her lil' boy Josh! yay!!! I cannot wait to have him home and apart of our wonderful family!

She flew out on the 9th of December from Jacksonville FL. to Detroit and then Detroit to Tokyo! It was a very long and exhausting trip for her, it is 13 hours ahead of our time so she lost a few hours on the way and didn't sleep for almost 24 hours! Crazy! She reports that china is soooo different than USA. It is super crowded and extremely congested! Cars everywhere and it is like "playing chicken" every time you walk down the street because people walk right at you! There is so much smog that people actually have designer face masks that you can buy so you don't get sick from all of the pollution!!! wow...this is only a little from what she has told us, if you want to follow her story, while she is there...you can click on her blog link on my page! Really interesting and lots of cool pictures she is taking! Go Renee!!! She gets her Little boy tomorrow, December 15th at 2pm....CANT WAIT! So I will report back on new updates!

On that note....Grandma (my mother) was suppose to come and watch her three boys Ben, kyle, and will for the first 10 days she was gone and then the second crew was coming in to take care of them the remaining days! My mom got on her plane, as if it was nothing, and after 15 minutes of being on the plane there were complications. The pilot reported that there were complications and that they were going to have to land back in Dubois. After two hours of being in the air, the pilot told everyone that there landing gear was not working and that they were going to have to crash land. He instructed them to all go to the back of the plane, strap in, and hold on to the seat in front of them.

From the story my mom tells me, it was very traumatic! The pilot landed the plane as best that he could....but still a crash landing is a crash landing!!! Anyways....after two hours they finally got there things back and were told that if they were still WILLING to fly they could get on a flight and make it to there destination within a couple of hours! My mom took them up on their offer and arrived as planned in Florida to watch the boys!

CRAZY HUH?!?!?!?

It gets better!

So my sister was sooo stressed...Myself and Dorian hopped on the first flight to Florida to help my sister as best that I could. I hope that it makes her mind at ease that there are extra hands with her kids while she is getting little josh! Because the last thing anyone expected on a routine flight is it to crash...especially when your own mother is on it! But I didn't hesitate...We made it to Florida the day my sister flew out to Detroit! It was a rocky flight, but we are safe and sound!

I am now in Florida until Thursday the 18th when my mother and I have the same flight back to Dubois! Niles is going to drive up as soon as we close on our house and meet me in Dubois! We will start our holiday vacation then!

My brother Brian also came to Florida on a whim to give an extra extra hand! And boy is it great to have him here! We are having a blast watching the kids! They keep us busy busy busy! I will post pictures when i get back to new Mexico! But we went to the zoo, a civil war fort, and walked on the beach! I take cali, my sisters dog for a walk 3 times a day so I'm getting soo much exercise! lol

And there is still more!!!

Niles and I have planned our x-mas for a long time! (and this is soooo not your fault niles!) And literally two days ago He called me to say that he was ordered to be back on base checked in by dec. 31st no later than midnight because......(drum role).........he is getting deployed overseas on Jan. 7th for 3-6months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow....not what i ever expected!

but whatever, life goes on...we have to now cut our plans short by a whole week! So we are now trying to squeeze everything in in two weeks instead of three!!! Fingers crossed, we hope to see everyone and go everywhere we originally planned! The only difference is it has all been pushed up a couple of days...so if you are all reading this...bare with us please!!!!

If you are in DuBois, Dorians baptism is still going to be on the 28th at St. Catherine's Church at 12:30...you are more than welcome to join us! And we will leave from DuBois to go back home to NM on the 29th....

So this is the news...I will update you as my journey continues! But please keep your thoughts and prayers coming for my sister! She is in China by herself being a trooper and she needs all the support she can get!!!

Pictures to come later!!!
