We are having a GIRL!

Niles and I went to our 2o week Ultra Sound today!!!! The tech told us we are having another girl!!! YAY!!! The baby is super healthy and is right on track. They did however tell me that I'm a week behind what we originally thought. So I am at 20 weeks instead of 21 week...bummer, but not that huge of a deal. My new new due date is September 19Th (and no mom I'm not going to try to have her on your birthday! ha ha).

So for the past week or so, since we've been back to NM from our trip, we've been getting ready for her to come! Dorian has been a huge help as you will see in our pictures helping shape the room for two babies instead of one! ha ha

We've definitely decided on the name Addeline, although we do not have a middle name picked out yet. I've left it up to Niles to pick the middle name, and he says he is still thinking about it and "will let me know". So I am being patient and will let you know when I know!

So yes two children is my limit and now Niles is going to have a house of girls! :) Good Luck Niles! ha ha

Alamogordo Zoo

We figured that if we've lived in Alamogordo for almost 2 years now that we should visit the local zoo! So our first weekend back from PA we ventured down town to the Alamogordo Zoo. We didn't expect much being that it is Alamogordo. But we were pleasantly surprised!

All of the animals in the zoo are animals that were found locally. The animals all arrived injured or disabled and can no long take care of themselves in the wild. The zoo is the oldest zoo west of the Mississippi River and one of the smallest!

It is a gorgeous environment and a great display, and has a children's play park right in the zoo! And the best part is, it only costs 2.50 per person! It took about and hour and a half to walk through...but honestly a great time waister on a boring day!

So we are finally Alamogordo native's and were tourists for a day in the small New Mexico Town! ha ha

It Could Have Been Worse...

Our trip home from PA was a little rough. We thought it was only going to take a couple hours and ended up taking us a little over two days to get back to New Mexico. It is really a funny story!

We left Wyalusing with Krystle (our sister in law), and drove a little over an hour to get to the air port. It took awhile to check in but literally as soon as we checked in they posted an hour delay for our flight out of Scranton. We were okay with this, and would still make our connecting flight in New Jersey to get to Houston. About a half hour later they posted that it was going to be over two hours more of a delay. Sooooo We stood in line to see about getting a different flight. The lady explained to us that the last flight into el paso TX is at 10pm. There was going to be no way to get us to our final destination that day. They were able to get us to Houston, but not to El Paso. They would not put us up in a hotel or pay for any accommodations because it was not their fault the flight was delayed it was air traffic controls fault. So if we got on the plane we were going to be stuck in Houston. We rescheduled our flight for the following day and quickly called his brother (who was just getting off work) to come get us and drive another hour and a half back to Wyalusing.

So the next day we make the same long drive, and check in as we are supposed to, and about 45 minutes after checking in they post that our flight was going to be delayed an hour. And about 15 minutes after that, that it was going to a 2.5 hour delay. We were still okay at this point, our new flights had plenty of time in between them and we were going to make it. After our long wait we were so excited to get on a plane and head home!!! We made it to New Jersey in record time and in plenty of time for our next flight! One problem...our next flight was also delayed about 2 hours. Which meant that we were going to miss our flight to El Paso AGAIN!!!!!

Niles thought we should see about getting new flights again because now we really were stuck!! So we stood in line at the customer service desk for about an hour. During this time we met some really nice people. Everyone in that line had a story and every story just seemed worse than ours. A trio of people were heading overseas, they missed their flight to hong kong and had to wait another day to get a flight over there. Once they would get to Hong Kong they would then be stuck there for 2 whole days waiting on a connection flight to where ever they were headed. Another couple and a single lady had two flights actually cancelled and they weren't going to get a new flight at all...so they banded together, rented a car, and all drove to their destination. All in all, our crappy luck just didn't seem as bad as getting stranded in Hong Kong for two days!!!!!

So our service lady, Jennie, was super!!! She looked at us and told us very loudly to RUN!!!!! So Niles took off running 3 concourses down. When he got there they were locking the doors!!! They were nice enough to let us on the plane even though we were late (not our fault though). Jennie got us on the last flight from New Jersey to Houston, and in enough time to make the last flight to El Paso!!!!!

We did have a 3 hour lay over in Houston, but we took it!!! After 17 lonnnnnnnnnng hours we made it to El Paso. Our luggage didn't make it, it went to Georgia as originally planned and got stuck there for a night. But it was shuttled up to us the next day, so no loss there. All in all, It could have been worse. We could have crash landed somewhere, Dorian could have puked on me in the plane, and we could have been stuck in a foreign country....but we made it! Home Sweet Home!

Easter in Wyalusing!

After our very short trip to DuBois we headed to Wyalusing to spend Easter with Niles' family. Niles lives about 3 hours away from my mom's house so we were able to stop NUMEROUS times for me to pee (gotta love pregnancy :)).

But I'm sure none of you have ever been to Wyalusing, but it is a small unique little town. They have the cutest houses and Niles' family has a small farm on their land. They have three pony's and three dogs, some chickens, and a lot of land to grow corn and hunt on. His dad runs his own taxidermy shop out of part of the garage they turned into a shop. It takes a lot of back roads to get to his home but it is really a nice town. There are no big malls or shopping centers but honestly if there were, it wouldn't be what Niles considers home!

Once we got to Wyalusing we finally had good wings (you can't get good wings in Alamogordo). We rented movies and watched them all! We baked cookies, and visited with friends, and on Easter we all went to Grandma Pensak's house were the WHOLE family was to celebrate. I could tell you that there were a ton of people at Grandma's house and you may think I'm over exaggerating, but honestly I'm not. All of his aunts and uncles were there with their kids. Autumn brought eggs to have an Easter egg hunt! And everyone made a dish to create the biggest and best feast we've had in a long time. Grandma P made her infamous coleslaw, and Aunt Diane made a chocolate/peanut butter cake to die for! I almost exploded by the time we left!

All in all it was a great trip home to see our family, getting back to NM is a whole different story I'll blog about later, but we miss our family so much and can't wait to journey back to PA to see them all after the baby is born!

Wintery Mix 09'

At the beginning of April Niles, Dorian, and I took a trip to see our family for Easter vacation!!! Our first stop was in DuBois to see my sister and her family, my brothers, grandparents, mom, and a few friends! We had soooo much fun!

We finally got to meet the newest edition to the Mongold family! And let me tell you he is sooooo flippin cute! After he found out Niles and I could play peek-a-boo...we were in! He is so lovable and so kind. He never had a problem sharing with Dorian and played with her for hours! All of my nephews have gotten so big, I wonder were the time has gone, and how old am I really getting?!?!?!?

The joke of the weekend was the weather. One day it would be super nice and the next it would be a wintery mix of rain and snow, and the next it would be to cold to go out and play! Even with the crazy weather, the Carr-Mongold-Putnam family was not stopped. We had even more fun planning camp fires, having Easter egg hunts, renting movies and popping popcorn, and catching up with family and friends we having seen for four months! I honestly don't think I've laughed as hard as I did when reminiscing with my brothers and sister every night when the kids went to bed.

I miss them all and wish we lived closer. We have so much fun when we are all together and it hurts to leave and see it all end. But someday we will all live closer together and be accessible to each other and have more fun more often!

Dedicated to Uncle Mark :)

This blog is dedicated to Uncle Mark! :) When I first moved to Alamogordo NM, I decided to apply for a job at Chili's just for something to do until I found a better job in my field. Going on two years later I'm still working there and am also working on my second child. I found out that I was pregnant with Dorian a month after starting to work there.

It is a running joke at our Chili's to not drink the water unless you want to have another kid! When I found out I was having Dorian I was one of nine women at Chili's pregnant at the same time. Now normally each person would have their own baby shower, and everyone would spend lots of money on their new bundle of joy. Not in this case. The manager didn't know what to do (also being one of the ones pregnant, ha ha) about giving people presents. She felt obligated to give each person something for their baby but nine baby shower gifts was a bit much for her to spend her money one, being that her baby was coming soon too! Soooo she made an executive decision to spend Chili's Corporation's money and buy everyone "Chili's Onsies" for their newborn babies! The people having girls got pink outfits and the ones having boys got blue ones!

The current count at my work right now is 4 women pregnant. We are all due around the same time in September! Scary, huh?!?!?!?

The Funny thing is that my brother Mark also works for Chili's in Pittsburgh PA! He started there about a year before I started working at the one in NM. But, we both started to work at Chili's as servers/waiters. I moved on to being a QA, and am now the Administrative Assistant to the General Manager and Managers. Mark is now a full time bartender as well as a server (he is were the money is!).

So these pictures are for you Mark. How funny is it that she has a Chili's uniform on and is only 8 months old! HA HA HA HA

Okay.....Seriously!

Okay I really really do Love this cat...BUT lately he has been on my last nerve! Last weekend I was putting shelf paper in all of my kitchen cabinets. I had to take out all of the dishes, measure the fabric, place it down, and put the dishes back. Not a hard job to do at all, and can be done quickly if nothing is in your way. Well there was SOMETHING in my way, and it was Mister. Mister took it upon himself (how he does things like this, I'm really not sure) to jump into each cabinet and make himself comfortable! After he tested out each cabinet, he somehow jumbed onto the top of the refridgerator and onto the top of the cabinets. REALLY high up for something so small, but he parked it up for there for the rest of the night! STRANGE!

Anyway, his new thing is to take Dorians sippy cups and/or bottles and chew the tips of the nipple off. So when she goes to drink from it the milk flows like a faucet all over her!!! GRR!!! I've had to buy soooo many bottle/sippy cup tops in the last week it is actually getting annoying!!!

But yes, this is my wonderful cat, and I swear I do love him...just not today!
