Happy Baby

We have nothing new to blog about so We thought we would share the most recent Pictures of our Baby D! Other than Both of us back to work full time, Dorian going to day care every day, nothing exciting happening in Alamogordo New Mexico!

Halloween is coming up so we will have more to blog about then! Dorian has her costume and is ready to show it off for you all!!

This is Dorian Watching Baby Einstein...We watch the Mozart and Bach one every night before she gets a bath...she really loves the music and colors! I'm not sure if she can actually see what is on the screen yet, but it keeps her attention for the full 27 minutes, so I'm assuming she likes it!

This is our Baby D getting all bundled up to go to Day Care! I thought she looked really cute in a hat, and she is always super happy at 6am, so prime time photo opportunities for me in the mornings! ha ha ha

But it is getting cold here in the mornings, so it was time to break out the hats, booties, and gloves! So more really cute pictures to come!

She is 11 weeks in all of these pictures! Getting soooo BIG! Dorian just had her 2 month appointment checkup last week and weighs in at 13 lbs and 2 oz's! She is 24inches long and is in the 97th percentile for both height and weight! Doctor says she is doing real well! She can hold her head up on her own and has learned to talk ALOT! We can't wait for everyone to see her again!

Dorian Meets her Family

A couple weeks after Dorian was born both our family's (not at the same time) flew down to New Mexico to meet the newest memeber to our family!

First my parents came! My grandmother, mom, and sister all came to see Baby D! We had a great time! My mom was a little bit of a baby hog, ha ha ha, but she occasionally let my sister and grandma hold her! We spent the week sitting by the pool relaxing, shopping at the exchange on base, touring white sands desert, and cooking food, drinking wine, and relaxing! My mom gave Dorian her first bath in the sink, and my grandma held her to keep her warm! It was great having them all here to help and support us with our new family! We love and miss you! Can't wait to see you all at Christmas!

A couple weeks later Niles' mother and father came to see us!!! So we knew more fun was to be had! They couldn't take their eyes off of her! We spent the week eating authentic Mexican food, jumping sand dunes, driving through the mountains, and taking long walks and playing cards! Niles' mom rocked Dorian to sleep and sang her songs while grandpa made her smile all of the time! It was truly a blessing to have you in our home! I can't wait to have you back again!

I'm so glad Dorian got to meet her family!!! I am so happy you are all apart of her and our lives!! We love you!!!

Oktoberfest Weekend!

Last week Niles and I's best friends flew from PA to see us in New Mexico!  We hadn't seen them since Easter, so we were super anxious to see them!!!  Summer and I have been best friends since the fourth grade and Niles and Derek have been best friends since grade school!!!  I can't remember a time that Summer and I were not there for each other or doing something wacky and off the wall!! We took dance together and cheerleading, and helped each other through our life crisis' in college! So when I moved across the US to New Mexico I was completely lost with out her!  I'm sure Niles felt the same when he had to leave Derek!  They went to Highschool together and even went to College in the same town of Wiliamsport! And they truly did everything together (that is how I met niles in the first place, was through derek!)Finally, they both got some time off work to come see us, and just so happened to be on the same weekend!  It worked out great!  We all got to go to Oktoberfest together!  Oktoberfest is the German celebration, and since the Germans share our military base in NM they specially ship in food and beer for all to enjoy!  It was definitly and experience, truly a piece of their culture!  We took summer and derek to white sands desert to see the sand dunes and sun set over the sand/mountians and they got to see their little niece Dorian!  Truley a wonderful time we had when they were here!  Such a great time that it was almost impossible to take them to the airport and see them leave!! It meant to much to us that you both came to new mexico!!! Words can't describe how much we miss you and can't wait to see you both again!! Thank you again for coming and staying with us in our sand box! We love you both!!

Tribute to Transformers!

White sands desert is the largest white sands deposit in the world. This means nothing to me, but a lot to movie production companies! Instead of filming movies on site over seas, they come to my little town of Alamogordo to shoot!

In the past 6 months there have more than three major films that have been shot in Alamogordo New Mexico (Who would have thought, right?!?!) We all got to meet Jack black for the one movie, and a couple of other big shot celebs.

I work at Chili's restaurant, and we get word of when new movies are going to be filming usually 6 months in advance. There are only two places to eat in this town, so this means that we are going to be packed and they like to be nice and for-warn us! We got word that they decided to make a transformers 2 a while back and were going to be coming at the end of the summer to start production! They did film transformers the original here about 2-3 years ago, and used the Air force Base along with the desert to film!

So for past three weeks transformers production crew and celebs have completely taking over our town! They have been taking over Niles' shop that he works on on base, using their equipment and what not, and also my work keeping us super busy and eating us out of food!

As a Curtice the crew opened up to the military and their families a display of the cars and auto-bots that are used in the film! I only know who bumblebee and optimus-prime are....so Ben and kyle you are going to have to help me with the other names of the cars!!! They did let us know that there are going to be 8 new transformers in this film and one of them is a 2011 corvette!!! But because they didn't want the secret to leak, we were not allowed to see those cars/auto-bots!!!

So this is for you Ben, kyle, and will!!!!! Hope you enjoy!!!

Daddy's little Mini-Me!

Everywhere I go that I have Dorian with me people are constantly telling me how much Dorian looks like her Father! They have the same head shape, the same eyes, the same everything! Her babysitter always tells me that the faces she makes makes her look even more like her daddy! Aunt Liz tells me she feels like she is watching a lil' Niles all day when she watches Baby D!!!

So lately I have been making fun of Niles because he has his own Mini-Me (like in Austin Powers!). Niles totally disagrees with me, and thinks she has some features of mine, but he is completely wrong!!!! She has his looks and my attitude (not a good mix, would have been better visa-versa...but what can ya do!?!?!)
Here is my tribute to Daddy and his lil' mini-me...Dorian!
Check it out and tell me if you don't think they are identical!

All Smiles!

Being a baby is such hard work, and for the first 5 weeks it has been nothing but eating, sleeping, and changing diapers! For me being a first time mom, I kept thinking...WHEN is she going to start being one of those babies you always see on the commercials smiling and giggling!!!
So recently in the last couple of days, Dorian has been starting to transform into a very VERY happy baby!! Everything makes her smile, and she has even started to talk a little! (of course I mean cooing and making cute sounds! lol) Even by simply touching her nose she gets a huge big ole' smile!! And it has been so much that we are able to take pictures to share her smiling lil' face!
It has been such a huge change, and such a wonderful experience to see her grow and change so much! So I hope you Enjoy!
